Case Study
Commissioned to design the artwork and graphics for the Stumblefunk Stage at Beat-Herder Festival in Lancashire, including the full line-up poster and set times. The design carried a bold, urban, factory-inspired style that matched the stage’s underground energy.
Overview
Beat-Herder Festival, held annually in Lancashire, is one of the UK’s most iconic independent festivals. I was commissioned to create the stage artwork for Stumblefunk — including both the line-up poster and set times poster. The brief called for something eye-catching, gritty, and true to the underground spirit of the stage.
Approach
We worked with the stage organisers to capture the Stumblefunk identity and bring it to life through visuals. The focus was on producing artwork that felt raw and industrial, reflecting the stage’s heavy-hitting sounds and factory-like aesthetic. The style needed to feel both authentic to the underground scene and clear enough for festival-goers to navigate line-ups and timings easily.
Tools & Tactics
Using Adobe Illustrator, we developed a series of bold, urban-inspired design concepts that played with rough textures, industrial tones, and high-impact typography. Through collaboration and feedback,WeI refined the visuals into finalised posters that delivered both functional clarity and a gritty, standout look that embodied the stage’s atmosphere.
Result
The final posters provided the Stumblefunk Stage with a distinctive visual identity at Beat-Herder Festival. The designs were bold, practical, and perfectly aligned with the stage’s underground energy — helping festival-goers instantly connect with the Stumblefunk brand.
